Quattro
Pazzi
(Four Crazies in Italian) is now entering the
second chapter of its distinguished life in
Fairfield. Once a whimsical storefront of a
cafe' devoted to offbeat fun, a new renovation
has set a fresher, more dramatic tone for the
restaurant.
A
restaurant it has indeed become. Sparkling clean
and fresh, the dining room area is wainscoted
in wood paneling and the floors are set with
hand-cut Italian granite tiles. Dramatic
post-modern curtain elements frame hand-plastered
walls. Rich oranges, golds and yellows create
an aura of Italian light that bathes diners
and their dishes in a warm sunset glow. Somehow
you are transported to another place, even as
the traffic just outside on the Post Road continues
it relentless beat.
The popular bar area, at the more secluded rear
of the restaurant, offers a few tiny tables
and intimate booths for a sense of seclusion
and retreat, graced by a high-def widescreen.
Mirrors and light-hearted artwork have made
the bar a favorite for many diners.
The menu delivers an elegant but fun European
message. You are transported to a Roman Cafe
on the Via Venetto. Antipasti are followed by
elegant Pasta Piatti, with house-made cavatelle,
pappardelli, linguine and fettucines. Secondi
Piattis, freshest veal, chicken and fish selections
reflect Chef Biagio Riccio's Italian temperatment
and are complimented by an excellent wine list.
We have attempted to make Quattro Pazzi lively
and convivial, providing friendly, quick and
engaging service in a pleasant and beautiful
setting.
We think you'll find it appropriate for a quick
lunch while shopping in downtown Fairfield or
a prolonged dinner with close friends on your
special evening.
